Our Story
Born from a frustration
It all started with an experience. A less than mediocre one, to be frank. And then another one. And another. That’s when one of those – what do you call them – “ah-ha moments” happened. Steven Wagner’s the one who had it. And it came from seeing first-hand what dealers were working with (or, more likely, not working with) to promote sales.
So Steven set to work with these three items in his head:
- Brands want a tool to help their dealers market online in a consistent, ROI-driving manner.
- Busy dealers want an easy-to-use tool to jump into the online marketing world and be effective in minutes - not weeks.
- A little less conversation, a little more action, please. (Okay, we stole that one from Elvis, but it works because it speaks to our “never say die” culture.)
Here come the numbers: 90% of consumers search online first when they shop. And 73% of visitors to a manufacturer’s website still use Google search to find a local store.
Those are numbers that you ignore at your own peril, because “we’ve never done it like that before” and “I don’t have time to mess with that” are about to eat your lunch.
We set out to make Dealer Ignition the most user-friendly, effective and helpful tool in your sales arsenal (think of it as your own personal Sherman Tank). So we’ve assembled a SWAT team that knows the ins and outs of what your world is like.
But you need to know that customer satisfaction isn’t in our vocabulary. Because we don’t want you to be “satisfied.” Let the other guys satisfy you. We want you to be fanatical. And our team won’t stop until you are.

I developed the first co-op advertising program for as Ford Motor Company’s Retail Marketing Manager. I led the marketing shift of Northwest Ford Dealers to new media to reach customers and earned the region first place in overall sales. I have worked with a diverse mix of companies including Mohawk Industries, Toyota Motor Company, Mercedes-Benz, John Deere, Ingersoll-Rand and Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse, among others.
I live in Greenville, SC with my wife and children. I am a proud alumni of Ball State University avid cyclist, snowboarder, and auto racing fan. I was a crew member in the 1996 Indianapolis 500.

Sales Igniter
I have accumulated 20 years of business experience with most of that occurring in a variety of sales roles and environments. My resume includes selling for Madison Square Garden, PSINet, CompuCom and others. I have sold hard products and I have sold intangibles. I have sold services. Hopefully, I have not sold my soul in the process.
I have a B.S. in Marketing from Boston College (I always chuckle at the idea of my Marketing degree being BS). I am originally from New Jersey and I am very proud of it. I really enjoy my work. The team that I work with and the clients & prospects I work with on a daily basis make my job fun.
I am married (for close to 15 wonderful years) to Hope. We have been blessed with three amazing kids. Our two cats are loved by most in the house. We live in Wake Forest, NC which is a really neat part of the Triangle area of central North Carolina (home to RTP).

Monique Ravesloot
Brand Igniter
The land of windmills, clogs and tulips, The Netherlands, is where I grew up. After college, I worked as a business consultant with managers and employees of international corporations, such as Cap Gemini's Sogeti, Vedior, Manpower, and Base, to analyze their way of working, identify disconnects, and design and install optimizations to address any issues we discovered. After working and living in cities across Europe, I moved to the US and founded Dutch Royal Horses, where we match talented American equestrians with their next European sport horse.
At Dealer Ignition, I work with our brand customers to help drive the value they get from Dealer Ignition's software. Whether it's consulting on their marketing programs, helping get their dealers up to speed or pitching Dealer Ignition to their sales team I'm all about making our customers and their dealers more successful using DI.
When off duty, I love to travel, play with our horses, dogs and cat, read, eat, and enjoy Greenville's vibrant down-town area or one of the nearby gorgeous State Parks.
Chas Lemley
Combustor of Software
I joined Dealer Ignition after several years earning my stripes working on web development and e-commerce sites. I took up Ruby on Rails and Agile development and I am having a great time helping build out the Dealer Ignition platform.
At heart, I am a programmer who is ready to leave my mark on the web. I think great work comes less from planning and more from a team doing what they are passionate about (oh and if they get paid for it, that's just icing). I am an avid whitewater kayaker - most weekends you'll found me on the many amazing rivers the southeast has to offer.
Tony Beninate
Design Grenadier
I am from Burlington, NJ and came to Greenville, SC to study Graphic Design (and photography) at Bob Jones University. I took on an internship position at Shorey and Associates marketing agency and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 2009. My designs are seen by thousands of client’s dealers and customers each day.
I am an avid hockey player and Philadelphia Flyers fan. I am also a ham-fisted musician and car aficionado. Along with my major in Graphic Design I also minored in Photography. I enjoy recreational photography and you can keep up with my findings at my photoblog.
